I am pleased to introduce a new and updated version of the Horsford Gardens and Nursery website. We have had a web presence for over two years, but it was time for a change. More than just a new look with brighter colors, the updated site is loaded with new content as well.

The all-new “visit the nursery” pages will serve you a visual feast of photos from our display gardens and growing areas. New maps illustrating the selfguided tours of the nursery and gardens are available as well. The staff page, showing employee mug shots, really makes you feel like you are right at Horsford’s.

For those of you who may be new to our website, we offer a “Plant List” which is essentially an online version of our famous 2003 Catalog. This listing includes descriptions of all of the trees, shrubs, perennials, fruits, vines, groundcovers, annuals, vegetables and herbs we grow. The descriptions are packed with useful information such as the mature plant height, its soil and light requirements, the flower color, a description of the foliage, and the plant’s hardiness zone rating if applicable. Alongside many of the descriptions you may find one of the 500 plant photos taken right here at the nursery. Click on the thumbnail and you will be treated to a larger, more detailed view of that plant as it grows in one of our display gardens.

When you need guidance, point your browser to our “resources” section for access to guides that will help answer your questions about planting, pruning or fertilizing. Use our “weights and measures” page for calculating how many yards of topsoil or mulch you may need, or consult our new hardiness zone map to determine what plants will survive where you live.
