Green Carpet Sale
Spring 2006
- Vol. 19 No.1
Soften the edges of patios and walkways
with random plantings of
creeping thyme. Most varieties of
thyme tolerate foot traffic. The exception
would be Wooly Thyme (Thymus
p. ‘Pseudolanguinosis’), which is better
suited for edges.
This spring we will have four varieties
of creeping thyme for sale. These
tiny plants can be easily nestled into
sandy cracks. Choose from the following:
Thymus praecox ‘Minus’ - Tiny,
dark-green leaves and grows in a
tight mounding habit
Thymus p. ‘Pseudolanguinosis’ -
Wooly thyme has furry, grey-green
foliage and a gentle spreading habit.
Thymus p. ‘Pink Chinta’ - Soft,
hairy, gray-green foliage with delicate,
pastel pink flowers.
Thymus serphyllum - Most commonly
used creeping thyme. Spreads
well with bright pink flowers. Can
be sheared after blooming to encourage
rebloom. |
