Lamium 'Anne Greenaway'
Spotted Dead Nettle
ZONE 3-8, HT 6-8", PART SUN/SHADE
The foliage on this lamium is outstanding! It is a wonderful blend of chartreuse, silver, medium green and mint green. The pinkish flowers that appear in late spring to mid summer just "pop" against the foliage. It is a perfect plant to brighten up those dark, boring corners of your shade garden, and fill in holes left by early blooming bulbs and woodland plants.

Lamium maculatum 'Beacon Silver'
Spotted Dead Nettle
ZONE 3-8, HT 4-6", PART SUN/SHADE
This Old World herb is an ideal filler plant. Low growing, it produces spotted leaves and pink flowers in summer. Tolerates any soil type. Vigorous, but controllable.

Lamium maculatum 'Chequers'
Spotted Dead Nettle
ZONE 3, HT 10", PART SUN/SHADE
Rose colored flowers from late May through August. Leaves are green with a wide stripe in the center. Spreading habit.

Lamium maculatum 'Red Nancy'
Spotted Dead Nettle

ZONE 4-9, HT 4-8", PART SUN/SHADE      Silver leaves have just enough of a hint of green on the edges to create a subtle contrast. Rosy-pink flowers make a show in May to June.

Lamium maculatum 'White Nancy'
Spotted Dead Nettle
ZONE 3-8, HT 8", PART SUN/SHADE
This Old World herb is an ideal filler plant. Low growing, it produces spotted leaves and white flowers. Tolerates any soil type. Spreads by runners but is controllable.

Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote Superior’
English Lavender
ZONE 5-9, HT 16", SUN
Aromatic gray-green foliage adds wonderful texture to your well-drained garden even without the deep violet blue flowers that bloom from mid summer to early fall. This new hybrid replaces 'Hidcote'. Fabulous cut and dried flowers. Deer and rabbits will leave it alone.

Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead Variety’
English Lavender

ZONE 5-9, HT 16", SUN
Lovely, fragrant flowers in July, aromatic foliage. Plant in a hot, dry, sunny spot that remains well-drained throughout the winter. Pick freely for your fresh and dried bouquets.

Lavandula x intermedia 'Provence'
French Lavender

ZONE 5-8, HT 18", SUN
Aromatic shrub with narrow, silver-gray leaves and dark violet flowers. Performs best full sun and dry, well-drained soil. Use in sachets, fragrant oils, and cooking. Perennial herb.

Leptinella squalida 'Platt's Black'
Brass Buttons

ZONE 4-10, HT 1-2", SUN/PART SUN
Tiny, black-green ferny foliage is the attraction on this adorable groundcover. It does have eensy-weensy white button-like flowers in late spring. It prefers moist soil so don't let it dry out. It spreads by rhizomes and we're not sure how enthusiastic it is. Pair with Sagina subulata 'Aurea' for a stunning combo!

Leucanthemum maximum 'Alaska'
Shasta Daisy
ZONE 4-10, HT 24-30", SUN
A must for any perennial garden. Classic, single white petals and yellow centers in July. Long stems make them perfect for bouquets.

Leucanthemum superbum 'Becky'
Shasta Daisy
ZONE 5-9, HT 36", SUN
Large, single white flower heads with yellow centers are sturdy, even after a hard rain. Flowers in mid-summer and will continue into fall if deadheaded. Great cut flower!

Leucanthemum superbum 'Crazy Daisy'
Crazy Shasta Daisy
ZONE 5-9, HT 24-28", SUN
No two blooms are alike on this frilly, twisted shasta daisy. 2 1/2" fully double cream-colored flowers with buttery-yellow centers all summer long.

Leucanthemum superbum 'Little Princess'
Shasta Daisy
ZONE 5-9, HT 12", SUN
A short, compact mound of clear white single flowers all summer long. Great cut flowers and a butterfly magnet!

Lewesia cotyledon 'Regenbogen'
Bitter Root
ZONE 5-8, HT 10", SUN/PART SUN
Rainbow hued flowers throughout the summer over succulent leaves. Alpine plant preferring semi-shade and fast drainage. Very unusual. Must have good drainage.

Liatris spicata 'Kobold'
Gayfeather
ZONE 3-9, HT 24", SUN
Compact plant with rosy lavender flowers and strappy leaves. Earliest of the Liatris to bloom -- begins in July and goes until September.

Ligularia dentata 'Britt-Marie Crawford'
Bigleaf Goldenray
ZONE 4-10, HT 32", PART SUN
This newer introduction has glossy chocolate maroon foliage. The daisy-like flowers bloom orange-yellow in mid summer. The leaves alone make a wonderful complement to hostas and ferns.

Ligularia dentata 'The Othello'
Bigleaf Goldenray
ZONES 4-10, HT 4-5', SHADE
Bright orange, daisy-like flowers tower over handsome bronze foliage. Likes moist, not wet, soil and loves the shade. May wilt in the heat of the day, but will perk up come evening.

Ligularia stenocephala 'The Rocket'
Rocket Ligularia
ZONE 4-9, HT 4-6', PART SUN
A magnificent plant! Above a cluster of sharply-toothed leaves stand tall dark stems with 12-18" spikes of yellow flowers. Summer blooming. Likes moist soil. Great addition to your shade garden.
