This stately plant has large scalloped leaves of silvery green. When it blooms in mid to late summer, the graceful pinkish white plumes can be used for cutting or drying. Make sure that this vigorous plant has room to spread.

ZONE 3-8, HT 18-24", SUN/PART SUN       These flowers are my favorite spring surprise. Since the nursery is so old, you never know what is going to pop up or where. Year after year our Virginia blue bells poke through scrub, rocky fields, and under trees. Flowers of purple-blue fade to rose. By summer the entire plant is dormant.

Reddish foliage becomes more intense as summer passes. Cotton-like plumes in August. One of the best fall-colored miscanthus that makes a large statement.

Clump forming, narrow green foliage with a white midrib. Foliage turns bronze in fall. Flower heads appear in late summer/early fall and are great for using as cut flowers.

Grows in an upright rounded clump of green foliage with thin white margins, giving the grass a silvery appearance. Reddish bronze plumes in late fall. Very versatile in the landscape. Prefers moist soil, but tolerates all soil types. Use in border, container, or mass plantings. Will grow well around pond edges.

Horizontal yellow bands on lush green leaves make this grass unique. This upright plant produces bronze red plumes that turn silver as seeds mature.

Molinia caerulea 'Strahlenquelle’

This grass is most appreciated in the landscape from mid summer through winter. Moor grass makes a great specimen, can be used as a groundcover, and gives a formal appearance to large planters. Grows best in moist soil and sun but is shade tolerant. Purple seed heads are produced in midsummer and rise up to 24" above the green foliage creating a fountain-like appearance.
