Nepeta
faassenii 'Walkers Low'
Catmint |
ZONE 3-8, HT 2-3', SUN
Nepeta is such a rugged plant, we had to offer you another variety. This compact mound of gray-green fragrant foliage is adorned with lavender flowers for much of the summer. Walker's Low is the name of a garden, not a reference to plant size. 2007 Perennial Association Plant of the Year. |
|
Nepeta faassenii 'Blue Wonder '
Catmint |
ZONE 3, HT 12", SUN
A great groundcover for hot, dry sites. Forms a soft gray-green mat of scented foliage covered with large purple flowers all summer. Also works great at the front of the perennial border or use to underplant a rose bed. |
|
|

Evening Primrose, Sundrops |
ZONE 4-8, HT 1-2', SUN/PART SUN Large, cup-shaped, bright yellow, four-petaled flowers will bring sunshine to even the cloudiest of Vermont days. People often come in asking for this plant when they see it blooming in gardens in early summer. |

|
Onoclea

for a sunny, moist area. Spore bearing fronds are very
attractive and often used in dried flower arrangements. |
 |
Oregano 'Herrenhausen'
Ornamental Oregano |

Rugged, yet attractive, ornamental herb with dark foliage and dark pink flowers. An old clump at the Nursery seems to be quite drought tolerant. Good cut flower and drying flower. |
|
|
Osmunda
cinnamomea
Cinnamon Fern |
ZONE 3-7, HT 18-24", PART SUN/SHADE
A good choice if you need a leafy filler for a shady spot. Light green, lacy leaves. Prefers moist soil. A beautiful and delicious fern (you can eat the "fiddleheads"). |
|
|
Osmunda
claytoniana
Interrupted Fern |
ZONE 3-7, HT 3-5', PART SUN
Very similar to the Cinnamon Fern. Mid-way along the frond the pinnae are interrupted by smaller spore-bearing pinnae. Tolerates dry, neutral soils better than most. Quite foolproof. The fiddleheads in spring are deliciously edible. |

|
|
Osmunda
regalis
Royal Fern |
