Achillea 'Gypsy White '

A great filler plant for any sun garden. Unlike most yarrow, 'Gypsy White' is a low mounding perennial exploding with small, white, semi-double blooms from June-September. Heat and drought tolerant. A reliable performer every year.

Achillea is great for constant color in the garden. `Fireland' blooms blood red with golden centers, then slowly fades to deep pink, salmon and finally autumn gold.

This is a great cut flower as well as a beautiful addition to the perennial garden. In July and August the plant is a mass of flowers in colors from ruby red to a pale yellow. Deadhead to promote continuous blooms.

Flowers bloom the color of clay pots and fade to soft yellow. Interesting color to work with. Fine-cut foliage is gray-green.

Flowers bloom purple with a white center in midsummer. Soft fernlike foliage. This Achillea is a repeat bloomer that will benefit from being cut back after the first bloom period.

Just as the name implies, flowers colors are soft hues of pink, apricot, cream and yellow. Blooms June through September with deadheading. Great for mass plantings, borders, or naturalized gardens. Performs best in lean, well drained soils.

Originally hybridized in England, this plant has icy blue-gray foliage and sunny yellow flowers. Blooms heavily in late June and sporadically throughout the summer.

Spires of dark purple, helmet-shaped flowers will bloom in July and August, before your 'Barker's Variety.' Poisonous.

Tall stalks of pale blue-violet flowers in June and July. Grows best in moist soils. If you long for delphinium but don't have enough sun, aconitum makes a good substitute. Poisonous.

Adiantum pedatum

One of the more unusual ferns. Blackish-purple stalks are forked at the top and covered with tiny roundish green leaves. Excellent plant for the shady wild garden.


 
Agastache foeniculum 'Blue Fortune'

A hybrid from Rotterdam with fragrant, lavender-blue flower spikes. This plant seems to bloom forever! Well, at least from July through September. It is heat and drought tolerant, not attractive to deer, but attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Would make a good companion for Solidago.

In late spring, the pure white flowers with yellow stamens will brighten your garden. These fragrant beauties are ideal for shaded or wild gardens. They prefer moist soil and are great for naturalizing. May rebloom lightly in fall.

The flowers appear in late summer into fall on well-branched stems. The flowers are a soft pink with yellow centers. Deer resistant!

This 1858 introduction is still one of the most striking and most popular cultivars of anemone. The single white flowers with sunny yellow centers are held on graceful stems above the rough, grape leaf shaped leaves. An abundance of flowers appear in August through September -- just when your other perennials are fading. Performs best with morning sun and fertile, moist soil. Does poorly in summer drought and winter wet.
