Artichoke to Tomato 'Yellow Pear'

 

 

 

 

 


Artichoke
HT 36-60", SP 36", FULL SUN Plants will grow and produce well in the Champlain Valley if they are given an early start, good soil, plenty of water, sunshine, and elbow room. Very beautiful additions to any garden. Harvest before the buds open by cutting and inch below the base.

Broccoli 'Premium Crop'
Cool season crop, so plant out early. Pick large head early, then harvest smaller heads as they pop up throughout the rest of the growing season.

Brussels Sprouts 'Jade Cross'
Space plants out well, at least 2 feet apart. Harvest late, September through November. Much sweeter after first frost.

Eggplant, Black
Eggplant
HT 24", FULL SUN 8 to 10 fruits produced per plant, 4 to 6" long. One of the earliest maturing varieties, does well in the north. Add a couple of plants as filler in your perennial garden. (70 days)

Leek
Culture: Dig a trench 4" deep. Separate individual leek plants and plant 4" apart. Grow all summer, mounding dirt around the plants as they grow to "bleach" the stalks. Begin harvesting after Labor Day and continue through November.

HT 24-36", FULL SUN A searing hot pepper that has been grown in Bolivia for centuries, starts out brilliant purple, then turns yellow and finally red when it is ripe. Bears 1", upright fruits early and throughout the season. (75-85 days).

HT 18-24", FULL SUN Vigorous, upright plants produce blocky, thick-walled fruit that are tender, sweet, and juicy without a trace of pungency. Archetypal bell pepper that will ripen to a bright crimson. (65-75 Days).

HT 24-30", FULL SUN Thick-walled 3" fruits are typically eaten green, but will ripen to red. Medium-hot, these are essential in burritos! (65-75 days).

HT 36-48", FULL SUN Indeterminate. The top beefsteak tomato, extra heavy yields of 10-12 ounce fruits. A super slicer for salads and sandwiches! (73 days)

FULL SUN Heirloom, indeterminate growth. Considered by many to be the best tasting tomato of all! Thin-skinned fruits can grow to be 1 lb. Produces better in cool climates. (75 days)

Tomato 'New Girl'

FULL SUN Indeterminate. Very early, medium sized, 4-7 oz. red fruits with rich, full flavor for salads and sandwiches. Better tasting and more disease resistant than Early Girl! (62 days).

Tomato 'Roma'
Paste Tomato
HT 18-28", FULL SUN Indeterminate growth. Meaty flesh and few seeds make this one perfect for sauces, pastes, and canning. Produces 2-3" fruits. Disease resistant. (85 days)

Tomato 'Super Sweet 100'

FULL SUN Indeterminate. Very vigorous and heavy producer of 100s of unusually sweet and flavorful red cherry tomatoes. (60 days).
