Bonsai – Creating Living Sculpture with Trees
DATE & TIME
Sunday, July 26, 2020
1:00 – 5:00 PM
Jeff Nottonson, owner of Whitford House Bed & Breakfast in Addison, and a Photographer and Marketing professional, has been practicing the art of Bonsai for thirty years. Bonsai, the art of cultivating trees in shallow pots, is a Japanese and Chinese tradition of “Living Sculpture”. Part Horticulture, part Art and part Spirituality with Nature, Bonsai encourages patience, creativity and responsibility for our natural world. While this introductory class will allow you to take home a small “tree in a pot”, the training and nurturing may continue over a lifetime or more. Fee includes stock plant, pot and all other necessary materials. In this workshop, each participant will work on his/her own Tropical tree, the Australian Bush Cherry, to take home at the end of the afternoon.
