Drawing and Painting Flowers, Trees and Nature from Observation
A two class workshop will be held Thursday June 6th and Wednesday June 12 from 10am-1pm for 5 adult participants (or older teens).
It will be peony season and a chance for you to fall in love with and draw or paint the focus of your attention. A short series of warm-up exercises to enhance observation, natural structures, and relaxation will be followed by time to paint a particular tree, a flowering plant, or particular flower. During that time Linda will circulate and or demonstrate, using her own watercolor, pastel, and teaching techniques.
Bring hats, sunscreen, and your own preferred equipment, i.e. chair, board or easel, paints, pads of paper, pencils or pastels, and brushes. Linda and Horsford’s can supply some plastic chairs and a couple of craft tables. Clip on umbrellas can be useful to attach to your chair to avoid staring at the white of paper in the sun. The sessions will last 3 hours although not everyone can concentrate for that long.
