Learn to Use Manual Settings on Your DSLR Camera
DATE & TIME
This is a two-day workshop on Saturday, August 15 & Sunday, August 16, 2020
Participants can sign up for the Morning Session (8:30 AM – 10:30 AM), or Afternoon Session (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
You see it in front of you. You have the camera that you know can help you capture it, but you never quite get the photo you had in mind. You don’t want to put the settings on manual because you’d rather almost get what you want than miss it entirely while you try to choose the right shutter speed and aperture. This is your chance to develop skills to capture and share all the beauty that moves you, whether you are in the middle of the city or alone on a mountain trail.
Over two days we will demystify aperture, shutter speed, and ISO as we explore the settings of your camera and how they relate to available light. We will talk about the feedback your camera provides and how to use that to keep learning beyond the bounds of this workshop. Both days will have time for plenty of practice and for sharing the photos we’ve taken. I will adjust to the needs of participants, depending on your experience and comfort with your camera. You will need to bring a DSLR camera, a full battery, and an empty memory card.
